Mafia / Weerwolven van Wakkerdam
Mafia, or the variant Weerwolven van Wakkerdam, are party games I think I might enjoy.
Guitar Hero on the NES
Someone made a version of Guitar Hero for the NES, that includes this kick-ass remake of Guns n’ Roses “Sweet Child of Mine”:
It was made by YouTube user notube4me who has also done NES versions of Daft Punk’s “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and Michael Jackson’s “The way you make me feel”. Make sure to check out his profile page for more 8-bit retro coolness.
Building a 3D game-engine in Javascript
Jacob Seidelin over at Opera.com has a very interesting write-up on how to create the basics of a 3D game engine in Javascript. The final result is here (move around by using the arrow keys) and looks like this:
While it may not look like much, it’s still a Wolfenstein-quality 3D-engine in Javascript – and I think that’s quite impressive.
Fantastic contraption
Fantastic Contraption is a fun online flash game where you need to use the laws of physics to move an object to the target area, like this (click ‘play’, ‘continue’, and finally ‘start’ to set things in motion).
Fancy Rubik’s cube
Rubitone is a Rubik’s cube with Pantone colors. It’s brilliant – but not for sale.

“How I Built a Working Poker Bot”
Someone has written a working poker bot, and has decided to tell how to build one yourself. Below is a screenshot of what must be the strategy editor.
Apparently he’s using a rule based expert system, which is a logical choice (imho) given the problem at hand. In the comments I found a link about breaking the random number generator in online poker, which makes the outcome of any poker hand completely predictable. Fascinating stuff.
Puzzle Boy
I really like puzzle games, and Puzzle Boy Flash is my new addiction.
Classical video games orchestrated
Ever since I saw Games in Concert at Lowlands last year, I have a thing for stuff like this. The thing I like best about this video is seeing back all those old games though 🙂
Innovative minigame
I like this minigame I found on Digg. In order to win, you have literally help yourself. You need to spend the first few of your 10 lives on opening doors for your later lives. Nice concept.
